Last Updated a year ago
Import Emails from Google Workspace to Titan
1. Take an Email Backup from Google Workspace
- Go to Manage your Google account → Data & Personalization → Download your data.
- In Google Takeout, deselect all options except Mail, then click Next step.
- Choose delivery method and other options, then click Create export.
- Once ready, click Download, sign in again, and download the ZIP containing your emails in MBOX format.
- Extract the ZIP to access the MBOX file.
2. Migrate to Titan Using Thunderbird or Apple Mail
Since the backup is in MBOX format, you’ll need a desktop email client:
Using Mozilla Thunderbird
- Install ImportExportTools NG (compatible with Thunderbird v91–v102).
- Restart Thunderbird.
- Go to Local Folders → right-click → ImportExportTools NG → Import mbox file → OK.
- Select your extracted MBOX file.
- When imported, drag and drop the messages/folders into your Titan IMAP inbox.
- Wait for Thunderbird to sync; your emails will upload to Titan’s servers.
Using Apple Mail (macOS)
- Open Apple Mail → go to File → Import Mailboxes….
- Choose Files in mbox format → Continue.
- Locate and select your MBOX file → wait for import.
- The mailbox appears under Import.
- Drag it under your Titan IMAP inbox to begin upload.
Final Notes
- It’s best to keep a backup of the MBOX file in case anything goes wrong during import.
- Only email messages (Inbox, Sent, etc.) are migrated—not contacts, calendars, or spam/trash.
- After syncing via IMAP, your emails will be safely stored in your Titan mailbox.
