Basic Monthly Maintenance Checklist for Office Computers

Regular maintenance helps prevent slowdowns, crashes, and data loss. Here’s a quick monthly checklist.

What to Do (Monthly):

  1. Restart All Systems
    • Sounds basic, but a full reboot clears memory leaks and refreshes performance.
  2. Update Windows & Software
    • Go to Settings → Windows Update
    • Also update browsers, antivirus, and critical apps.
  3. Disk Cleanup
    • Press Win + R, type cleanmgr, select C: drive
    • Clean temp files, recycle bin, and old updates.
  4. Scan for Malware
    • Run a full antivirus scan using Windows Defender or any installed antivirus tool.
  5. Check Storage Space
    • Right-click C: drive → Properties
    • Ensure at least 15–20% free space for smooth performance.
  6. Remove Unused Programs
    • Go to Control Panel → Programs & Features, uninstall what you don’t need.
